Today, methylene blue is gaining renewed attention for its neuroprotective properties. It stabilizes amyloid proteins, slows their aggregation, and shields neurons from oxidative stress and toxin-induced damage. By enhancing electron transfer within the mitochondrial electron transport chain, it supports cellular respiration and boosts energy production, while minimizing the formation of harmful superoxide molecules.
